Amacue Foundation receives donation of Tools from TWAM to facilitate Skills development

According to the last National Population and Housing census in 2014, over 24,240 (25.9%) households in Kamuli district were headed by youths aged 18-30 years. Of this number, over 31% (7,597) youths were neither in school nor at work. Only 7.5% of the youth had completed senior 4 as the highest level of education while 18.7% of this age group were illiterate.

Despite the available opportunities in construction, wielding, tailoring and other works in the developing parts of Kamuli, the resident youth luck the vocational knowledge and skills to propel them to employability.

This fuelled our application to TWAM for support towards our intervention to establish a vocational training centre at Busibe Budhutu in Buzaaya county Kamuli District.

Amacue Foundation was fortunate enough to receive 7 sewing machines (5 Electronic and 2 Manual), 2 building kits, a Carpentry kit, knitting machine kit, knitting machine ribber and Saw packs.

We strongly believe, with various vocational skills training (starting with Tailoring), the youth will attain the market-required skills as a way to fight household poverty.

We are most grateful to Tools with a Mission (TWAM) Uk, for their generous support towards our mission. We look forward to creating a big positive impact in the communities we work.
