Statement of need

Kabukye Primary school is a Government established school located in Kamuli District, it has an average of 636 pupils who attend studies on a daily however some of the classroom blocks are in dire need to renovation and there isn’t enough furniture for pupils especially those in Primary six.

Why It Matters

The current structures at the school are not suitable learning environments and the limited furniture makes the situation worse. The classroom blocks don’t have windows to shelter the pupils from the scotching sun and rain during classes and this affects their performance negatively.

One desk is shared by 5-6 pupils and even so, they are not enough so this affects pupil’s health and promotes absenteeism.

Measuring Impact

Our impact and success are measured by the increased number of pupils attending school and improved performance because of the conducive learning environment created.

Sustainability

To ensure sustainability, we plan to ensure community ownership through a contribution by the school and community members for the maintenance and repair of the classroom blocks and furniture. Monitoring will be done by Amacue Foundation representatives on ground in conjunction with school leaders.
